50 years

Group Jansen turns 50. René Jansen originally started a plastering business together with his four brothers. The family business quickly expanded into a group of companies working in construction. Now his daughter Nadia is at the helm, and the organisation has grown to become an established company that thinks outside the box, with an urge to innovate and always in the mood for a party!

Nadia took charge of Group Jansen at the age of 33. “It was a huge challenge to take on the CEO position in such a man’s world at that young age. I was not only a woman, but young as well AND without an engineering degree.” Nevertheless, Nadia is leading the company with style and embodies the philosophy of this family business. “Everyone gets the same opportunities. We look for strong personalities with plenty of drive, regardless of their qualifications,” says René.

“Obviously you can’t come to work for us with plenty of enthusiasm but not much knowledge,” Nadia laughs. To address this situation, Group Jansen invests in its people via the Star Academy. “We provide specialist technical training for our people and also pass on our group’s values and standards. These days, many employees view variety as something very important. If they work for us, they can job hop within the group.”
