Accessia GMP
Many companies face difficulties when translating laboratory discoveries into preclinical and clinical development. The main problem is the application of the very strict production standards of the pharmaceutical industry (Good Manufacturing Practices).
In 2016, Accessia took over Colgate Palmolive’s former research and development centre, (Hauts Sarts). This company wanted to provide an infrastructure of cleanrooms, laboratories and offices for biopharmaceutical companies to set up its GMP production capacities. To achieve all this, Accessia —today part of Xpress Biologics— sought assistance from Group Jansen. And with success! Our extensive knowledge and experience as contractor of cleanrooms was exactly what Accessia needed.
Not only the buildings were completely renovated, Group Jansen also added no fewer than seven cleanrooms. The cleanrooms (3 grade D (ISO 8), 4 grade C (ISO 7)), together have a surface area of ± 800 m². In addition, there are also furnished laboratories with a surface area of 800 m² as well. A project that we, as contractor of cleanrooms, are very proud of! In 2018, Accessia cut the red ribbon, together with minister Jeholet and more than 150 VIPs from the pharmaceutical world.

Cleanroom design challenges across industries
At Jansen Cleanrooms & Labs, we’ve spent more than 30 years designing and building controlled environments for pharma, biotech, microelectronics, and healthcare. Here’s what we’ve learned about the challenges that define each, and how to design for success from the start.
More than cleanrooms: an integrated ecosystem
The Einstein Telescope is next-generation underground gravitational-wave observatory that will allow scientists to look deeper into the universe than ever before. And Jansen Cleanrooms & Labs is already playing an active role.
