Jumet
Univercells
The Walloon biotechnology company Univercells in Jumet builds technology that can be used to produce vaccines and medicines quickly and cheaply.
Their need was clear: an ultramodern facility where they can produce just as many vaccines as the big players, but at a lower cost price and in a more compact production environment.
Jansen Cleanrooms & Labs was delighted to take on this assignment.
For the biotechnology company Univercells, we converted an old industrial building into an ultramodern facility for the development and production of viral vectors to be used as clinical trial material (CTM).
This project was carried out in two phases:
-
- Phase 1: demolition work and the creation of lab and GMP areas
(laboratories/cleanrooms: 1,600 m²) - Phase 2: creation of clean logistic areas (400 m²)
- Phase 1: demolition work and the creation of lab and GMP areas
Our specialist knowledge demonstrated. The end result is a new facility with a total surface area of 900 m² for GMP production areas, divided into Grade C and D environments. There is also a 320 m² GMP QC area, a 320 m² R&D area and a 400 m² clean logistic area, including coldrooms (4°C/-20°C/-40°C). In addition, we built an 800 m² technical area, equipped with ten air groups.
One thing is certain: this innovative company now operates in the best possible conditions!
