Vaccinopolis
The climate is changing, people are living closer together, we are travelling more often and we are getting older. These are all evolutions that lead to a faster and wider spread of viruses. It’s therefore no surprise that vaccine development is gaining importance. The arrival of COVID-19 also added to this and accelerated everything. The question for an impressive testing environment in continental Europe was raised. This was the start for the Vaccinopolis test and research centre, with no fewer than 30 rooms, various lab areas, offices, etc.
A unique test and research centre Vaccinopolis!
Most of this unique building consists of biosafety level 2 and 3 cleanrooms. Jansen Building Projects, in collaboration with several other partners, executed this vaccine research centre to the last detail, entirely in line with their years of experience and expertise. For instance, the lab areas of Vaccinopolis test and research centre are top of the bill. Not to mention the laboratory furniture, made and installed by Jansen Cleanrooms & Labs according to the design & build principle.
It’s all about facts
And figures
Vaccinopolis was a tough challenge for our people. We had to reconcile an extremely short execution time with the required biotech safety level. But we succeeded. We completed this project perfectly in just 14 months. By the way, we still remain connected to Vaccinopolis, as we play an important role for the maintenance of this test and research centre.

Cleanroom design challenges across industries
At Jansen Cleanrooms & Labs, we’ve spent more than 30 years designing and building controlled environments for pharma, biotech, microelectronics, and healthcare. Here’s what we’ve learned about the challenges that define each, and how to design for success from the start.
More than cleanrooms: an integrated ecosystem
The Einstein Telescope is next-generation underground gravitational-wave observatory that will allow scientists to look deeper into the universe than ever before. And Jansen Cleanrooms & Labs is already playing an active role.
